this is a very late post. last month i visited lombok. it was on my 2nd trimester of my pregnancy so i was allowed to fly. i was glad i did it because after there’s a baby, it won’t be that easy to travel anymore.

i love lombok because it’s quite and charming. not as crowded as bali. and i was there during the low season.

i introduced jingga to beaches and more things closer to nature. we can see the color of nature better there. i captured some in my photos.

after almost a year, we finally visited bandung again.

bandung is home, as a grew up there. being there, those memories of my childhood appeared, especially the memories with my late dad.

we went to some awesome places that i have never been visited before: dusun bambu, miss bee providore and koloni 108. it was raining most of the time there. but we still have great times.

we visited the newly opened ikea at alam sutra last week.

when we arrive there, it was almost lunch time, so we went straight to the restaurant first. it was weekday, so it wasn’t too crowded. then we walked around the shop but didn’t do a lot of shopping. i was just happy finally we have ikea here.

after more than 2 years, we finally visited the botanic garden in bogor again. it was early in the morning on saturday. the fresh air and the green kept us happy all the time. jingga had her time there. running around on the grass and played soccer.

this is the kind of place we should visit again and again.

on the last part of lebaran vacation, we spent one night at harris hotel in sentul. we had never been in this hotel before. we just looked for a hotel near bogor but not in bogor.

the hotel turned out to be awesome. the swimming pool was great. and jingga spent most of her life there in the swimming pool. we also can rent bike for free. and i biked again after years! they also have kids club. it was small but not bad. at night we had dinner at ah poong which was very closed.

we visited legoland in johor bahru, malaysia 2 weeks ago. our base was in singapore and spent 1 full day in legoland. it was raining in singapore when we arrived, luckily it was sunny for the next few days.

jingga was accompanied with her 2 cousins, so it was fun for her. she enjoyed the trip very much.

feeding some animal farm in kuntum farm field in bogor.

it’s big, clean and affordable. unlike lactasari farm, this one is a real farm on a land. you also can harvest some organic vegetable. we think of visiting this place again sometimes.

the hidden park event this year is in taman tebet. we had no idea about taman tebet since we have never been there before, but it turned out to be a nice park. i hope there are more park and event like this in jakarta.

we just had a short vacation to lembang and bandung. we stayed at sangria resort. the hotel is by the cliff with view to a river below. just like hotels in ubud.

the guestroom is a bit old but i love the public area. especially the restaurant, the pool and the fish big pond. since we living in a pollution city of jakarta, the cold fresh atmosphere here was such a luxury.

i visited the bund on a sunny spring day. it was walking distance from where i stayed. i love walking since i rarely can do this in jakarta.

the bund is a very touristy place. tourists were taking pictures and blocked the view. some people asked me to take their pictures. but the viewing deck is very looooong. i tried to walk from end to end. but it was too sunny and i gave up.

In the future everyone will be famous for fifteen minutes.
Andy Warhol

this is a very late post. when i was in shanghai, on the weekend, me and some friends visited andy warhol’s exhibition. one of my friend is a big fan of him. i was just ok, i admire andy warhol but not too crazy.

the exhibition was quite interesting. starting with the early life of warhol and until he became extremly famous. they also had the famous campbell’s soup can on display. taking pictures inside the exhibition were not allowed. there were some of his movies too. i tried to watch it for a few minutes but didn’t get it.

and the place they have the exhibition is called power station of art. what a name!

it had been soooo long since the last time i visited any art exhibition. during high school, i used to join art club and visited exhibition frequently.

found another oh-so-cute hotel. this time is in bandung with very reasonable price! it’s cottonwood bed and breakfast. the color, the furniture and the decoration is really my style. i recognize some of the decoration are from bali. because i have the same ones

the only thing i’m not too interested is the location. it’s not the part of bandung i want to stay. but let’s see maybe i’ll give this place a try :)

on my last trip to singapore, i found a new garden inside terminal 2 changi airport. the location is on the previous space of fern garden. i saw the fern garden had been boxed up for months. and finally after it was opened again, it turned into enchanted garden!

this enchanted garden is filled with some sculpture made of mosaics, flowers and timber deck. it also has viewing deck to the pond with fishes (i think they’re koi fishes). my favorite garden in changi airport is still sunflower garden and butterfly garden.

since a few days ago, singapore is covered with haze. i arrived a few days ago and i thought it was just cloudy day. then people talked about it. the haze is from forest fire in north sumatra. they also asked me if we got haze too in jakarta.

when i left jakarta there was no haze. i don’t even remember i ever experience any haze in jakarta. north sumatra is closer to singapore and malaysia than to jakarta, this is why they get the haze.

i just hope the fire will stop soon.

i found fuxing park on my last day in shanghai. ironically, the place is very close to the office. it was spring time so the flowers were bloom. there’s rose garden part but my friend told me the flowers were not roses, even they looked roses to me.

after the office, i made a round walk in the garden for the last time. it was almost dark but still nice.

i walk everyday to the office now. about 3.5 km and take me about 45 minute. it’s a long walk, but the weather is cool (with rain and wind sometimes) and shanghai has big pavement for walking. it’s just great to be able to walk here. in jakarta, i almost never walk.

i passĀ  a lot of parks. they’re big and clean. and the surroundings are old and new building side by side together.

i work overtime everyday so returning from the office, i usually just take taxi. this city is very safe. safer than in singapore. i just can walk alone in the middle of the night to get taxi. and unlike jakarta and singapore, available taxi is not hard to find. most taxi drivers don’t speak english so i always have my destination address written in chinese.

on my 3rd day in shanghai , i decided to walk from the apartment to the office. the office staff said this will take 40 minutes, but my boss said 20 minutes. and according to the taxi receipt it’s 3.5 km.

i tried to check google map, but the map is written in chinese. i can’t follow the taxi route because some of the roads are one way road. it was raining lightly, the temperature was colder than the previous day, but i decided to just walk. if i lost, i just can take taxi.

and yes, i was lost. i got into a family mart (kind of 7/11) and asked for direction by showing the office address in chinese. the lady in there only spoke chinese and tried to show me the direction. i followed her direction, and finally i reached the office.

blogspot in banned in china. how can i visit other blogs?

mie in chinese is mie *ha!*

H&M is walking distance. i thought in asia, H&M is only in hongkong and singapore.

the area here is part of french concession. no wonder the area is somehow like in europe.

shanghai and jakarta has the same phone code: 021

found many art deco buildings here. so interesting.

i thought the internet connection in jakarta is bad. but here is worse!

the chinese for receipt is ‘fa piao’. i need to collect them to claim. you can scratch part of the receipt and can win something!

i’m in shanghai now. the first time to be here. away from jingga for longer than i’ve ever been.

it’s only my 2nd day but so far the city is ok. not many people speaking english. and like other places there are many good people. so far my life has been only between office and apartment so not many things i can tell.
